Prayer to Saint Anthony

O glorious Saint Anthony,
whom God has chosen to be our intercessor
in the hardships and losses of material life,
and as protector of the poor before the rich:
protect us with your favor in all the necessities and entanglements of our life
and entanglements of our life,
give us the sincere love of the poor,
much confidence in God
and high esteem for eternal life,
to which all temporal life is ordered.
We especially beseech your intercession in this favor which we ask of you.  Amen.
