Blessed St. Joseph, we come to you in our tribulation, and after invoking the help of your Most Holy Spouse, we also confidently ask for your patronage. By that charity which united you with the Immaculate Virgin Mary, Mother of God, and by the paternal love with which you embraced the Child Jesus, we humbly beseech you to turn your eyes kindly to the inheritance which Jesus Christ acquired by his Blood, and by your power and help to succor our needs. Protect, O most provident Guardian of the Holy Family, the chosen offspring of Jesus Christ; remove from us every stain of error and corruption; Assist us propitiously, from Heaven, our most mighty deliverer in this struggle with the power of darkness, and, as you once delivered the Child Jesus from the imminent danger of his life, so now defend the Holy Church of God from the snares of her enemies and from all adversity, and protect each one of us with perpetual patronage, so that, after your example and sustained by your help, we may live holy lives and die piously and attain eternal happiness in Heaven. Amen.
Joseph most sweet and most loving Father of my heart, I choose you as my protector in life and in death; and I consecrate this day to your worship, in recompense and satisfaction for the many that I have vainly given to the world, and to its most vain vanities. I beseech Thee with all my heart that by pains and joys Thou obtain for me from Thy adopted Son Jesus and Thy true spouse, Mary Most Holy, the grace to employ them to His great honor and glory, and for the good and profit of my soul. Grant me living lights to know the gravity of my faults, tears of contrition to mourn and detest them, firm resolutions not to commit them any more, fortitude to resist temptations, perseverance to follow the path of virtue; particularly what I ask of you in this prayer and a Christian disposition to die well. This, my Holy One, is what I beseech of Thee; and this is what, through Thy powerful intercession, I hope to obtain from my God and Lord, whom I desire to love and serve, as Thou didst love and serve Him always, forever, and for an eternity. Amen.
